Gala Dinner Quickie

Gala Dinner Quickie

I love Afro puffs, they are quick, easy and everyone always thinks you spend a lot of time on it. 🙂 🙂  With this one I only had 10 minutes after a conference and I was going to a gala dinner, so with some furious finger combing and my hairs best friend, which is water, I finally got my hair to the side…

What you need:

Timeframe of hairstyle: One day

Time to prep: 10 minutes

  • Your favourite oil (I use our Afrorage hair massage oil for my hair)
  • A long ribbon to tie up your hair (I used a silk ribbon)
  • Something to fluff out your hair, e.g large wide toothed comb, I however use my fingers which work like a charm every-time!

Step 1: Hair Prep! Start with free, softened hair. De-tangle your hair if you need to, using your fingers or a wide toothed comb. The looser your hair is the less it will tangle when exposed to the elements!

Step 2: Rub your favourite oil on your hands and run it through your hair to give it some shine and to protect it while its loose.

Step 3: Experiment with pulling all your hair to the top left or top right of your head to create a small puff, when you find a position you like slowly curl the ribbon around the puff so that all hair is held and is secure.

Step 4: Pat down or fluff out the afro puff, add some earrings and head to the party!

Kinks and curls,

Sharon, Afrorage
